Vesper

The car that gives you back the road.

An electric, fully autonomous lounge — shown here as the … pieces it is made of. Scroll, and it puts itself together.

01 Foundation

A floor made of energy.

Everything starts with the battery, because in Vesper the battery is the structure. Twelve modules of solid-state cells form a flat, 13 cm slab between the wheels: the car's floor, its spine and its fuel tank in one piece.

02 Motion

Four motors. No gears.

Each wheel carries its own axial-flux motor: a flat ring of 18 copper coils between two spinning magnet discs. The inverter switches current through the coils in sequence, so the magnetic field rotates; the magnets chase it, and the wheel turns. Lift off and the same coils become generators — the glow turns blue as energy flows back to the battery.

03 Senses

It sees 300 metres, in every direction.

Two lidars, six radars and eleven cameras build a live 3D picture of the world, 40 times a second. Two independent computers drive the car, and a third, deliberately simple one watches them both — ready to bring Vesper to a calm stop if they ever disagree.

04 The front row

When nobody has to drive, the front seats turn around.

The yoke retracts into the beam, the pedals fold into the floor, and each front seat slides back and swivels 180° on its own slewing ring. The console glides between you and opens into a table. Four people, facing each other — or two, lying almost flat under the stars.

Drive — the yoke is out, the left seat faces the road. Vesper is still watching, and will take over if you ask.

05 Skin

Drawn by the air.

One continuous surface, from the light line in the nose to the sharp Kamm tail. No grille, no mirrors, no handles — the doors open when they recognise you. A single glass canopy covers the cabin, held by one cast hoop: the Halo.
